On April 6th, Case Medical joined other manufacturers, educators, and administrators from the Workforce Development team at the County College of Morris to attend the Central Targeted Industry Partnership Meeting (TIPs) which is hosted by NJMEP. The topic of discussion was “Apprenticeship Programs for Manufacturers in New Jersey” and included several broad topics of discussion:
- An overview of the challenges the industry faces
- An apprenticeship program presentation
- Breakout sessions
The meeting was focused on apprenticeship awareness and workforce training. There are many in-house training options such as NIMS and Tooling-U as well as some pretty impressive Vocational and County College programs that can augment your OJT. Case Medical, along with every other sponsor and member in attendance, is and will always try to create opportunities for new positions in manufacturing, and believes that participating in apprenticeship programs and workforce training will help lead the path to a brighter future in the industry.
